ABOUT BETA ALPHA PSI EPSILON LAMBDA:
Making a Difference
The mission of Beta Alpha Psi, the premier international honor and service organization for financial information systems students and professionals, is to inspire and support excellence through:
Fostering lifelong ethical, social, and public responsibilities through community service participation.
Encouraging the study and practice of accountancy, finance, and management information systems.
Providing opportunities for professional development and interaction among members and financial professionals.
BAP EPSILON LAMBDA SPONSORED ACTIVITIES:
WEEKLY MEETINGS
Our weekly meetings provide members the opportunity to learn about the accounting profession and meet representatives from prominent industry firms. These firms present on a variety of important accounting topics, and teach our members about their companies. In this informal setting, our members can network with these professionals and foster connections that last long into their careers.
CAREER FAIR
Every year, Beta Alpha Psi hosts a Career Fair which gives the students the opportunity to meet professionals from different firms. Firms featured at the Career Fair include everyone from the Big Four accounting firms, to more regional and industry oriented firms. This gives BAP members exclusive career and internship opportunities that have the potential to lead to lifelong personal and professional relationships.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
Throughout the semester, our chapter engages in numerous community service events, such as: the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes, the Hartford Junior Achievement Program, as well as projects with the CTCPA and the UConn School of Business. Each year, our chapter also participates in VITA, the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program with the IRS. Participation in VITA helps complete the tax returns of the international students at UConn.
TRAVEL
Additionally, Beta Alpha Psi members will have opportunities to participate in national Beta Alpha Psi conferences and events. These include events such as the annual U.S. Beta Alpha Psi conference and various regional Beta Alpha Psi leadership workshops.
